Denise and I met in October ‘93 at an ATM on Walnut Street in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. We dated for a few months, went our separate ways, but remained friends. I wrote Fatal about her not long after we met. We dated again in the late 90’s for nearly a year, but music called me away, and Texas called Denise away. At end of 2003 we met for dinner, and the rest, as they say, is history. The friendship that we’d nurtured over the years blossomed into love, and then into family. I moved to Dallas in 2004 and Sofia Marie was born later that year. Ava Rose followed in 2006. We moved our two, little Texans back to western Pennsylvania in 2007 to be closer to our families. And even though we miss our friends, and the margaritas at Mi Cocina, we’re happy to be home.
